If you have recently seen an Osteopath from our team you have most likely been given an exercise to do at home.
Prescribed exercises are awesome (of course I think that, it is a huge part of my work) they are tailored to your specific injury, pain and speed up your rate of recovery!
Everyone wants to recover faster…right?
Then why is it you leave the treatment room with the best intensions of doing your exercise, you get home and it doesn’t happen!
Well… I can’t answer that question for you, BUT I do have a fail proof tip to get you on track to doing it.
You need to attach your exercise to a pre-exisiting habit.
My favourites are brushing your teeth and boiling the kettle, but it can be anything you already do without thinking about it.
Then you just need your reminder note… a good old fashioned sticky note on the kettle, or next to your tooth brush.
What if I ignore my sticky note…? Then you need to ask yourself how invested you are in getting pain free, or achieving whatever goal you have set with your practitioner.
On your next appointment, chat with them about it and you may be able to uncover your block, because in order to make progress both parties need to be 100% on board.
